Exposure draft for employment services 2015–20

Catholic Social Services Australia (CSSA) is pleased to submit some brief comments on the exposure draft for employment services 2015–20 purchasing arrangements. CSSA is concerned that smaller mission-driven providers may be squeezed out of the market and that this may adversely affect job seekers, particularly those who are highly disadvantaged.

A National Quality Framework to Support Quality Services for People Experiencing Homelessness Options Paper

CSSA provides written comment on the questions raised in the Options Paper: A National Quality Framework to support quality services for people experiencing homelessness, circulated earlier this year. Please note that the attached submission reflects the position of particular CSSA member agencies in NSW, Victoria and WA whose homelessness support work is undertaken in a range of contexts, including inner city, regional and rural locations. Although the views of all 69 member agencies are not reflected here, several Catholic agencies have already provided feedback on the Options Paper via consultation sessions held across the country and in individual submissions.

ACBC Submission - tax deductible gift recipient reform opportunities

The ACBC appreciates the opportunity to make a submission in response to the discussion paper issued by the Treasury, Tax Deductible Gift Recipient Reform Opportunities (Discussion Paper). The ACBC supports initiatives to simplify the rules and administrative arrangements for Deductible Gift Recipients (DGRs). Given the extent of reform to the sector in recent years, the ACBC believes that reform should be pursued only if it creates efficiencies for the sector or is necessary to address a distinct and material problem.
