MacKillop Family Services

Founded in 1997, MacKillop Family Services (MacKillop) is a leading provider of specialist support services for children, young people and families in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia, particularly those who have experienced distress, disadvantage, abuse and/or neglect. MacKillop's work is underpinned by strong governance and a deep commitment to social justice, families, the prevention of harm, and evidence-based research. It provides early intervention programs in all three States in which it operates to support the most vulnerable families, and provides education, disability support, home-based care and out of home care for vulnerable children and young people. MacKillop also provides supported access to historical records for its care leavers, and where appropriate, supports them to reconnect with their family. In addition to its service delivery, MacKillop is an accredited Sanctuary Organisation, and the only accredited Sanctuary Model training and consultancy service provider in Australia. Sanctuary is a clinical and organisational model which recognises the inherent vulnerability of all individuals and social systems to adversity, loss and change and promotes a trauma-informed approach to service delivery.
