CatholicCare Archdiocese of Melbourne

CatholicCare is a social services agency working on behalf of the Catholic Church in Melbourne and Geelong to build on the vision of ‘life to the full’ for families, individuals and communities in all their diversity, but in particular those who are marginalised in society as a result of poverty, disadvantage and other barriers to social inclusion. Our core work is targeted towards families, communities and individuals whose basic needs are not met; or who are suffering and in need of assistance. Our Family and Relationship Support programs provide a range of services including, counselling, family dispute resolution, adoption and permanent care and specialist alcohol and drug counselling for individuals and families supporting family members dealing with substance addiction. Pastoral Care provides outreach support and service through our Chaplains in hospitals, churches, prisons and the HIV/AIDS Ministry. Our Education and School services support students of all ages to make the most of their educational opportunities, including clinical counsellors in schools to work with vulnerable students and their families; and programs for children at risk of dropping out of school. Community Development focuses on facilitating resources and programs tailored to the needs of local communities to strengthen their capacity and resilience.
