Chief Executive Officer - Catholic Social Services Australia
Headquartered in Canberra, Catholic Social Services Australia (CSSA) is the Church’s national body for social services in Australia, representing 50 Catholic agencies providing services to over 450,000 Australians a year.
As a national advocate, CSSA works with its members to produce evidence/research which informs public opinion and assists lawmakers to develop just and compassionate social and economic policies that will improve the lives of the poor and vulnerable in Australia.
Supported by a small policy and research team, the CEO of CSSA plays an active social advocacy role in accordance with the Church’s teachings on social justice. The agency collaborates with its fellow Church bodies including Catholic Religious Australia, Catholic Health Australia, the Australian Catholic Commission for Employment Relations, the St Vincent de Paul Society, and organisations representing other major faith based and community providers of social services.
With the appointment of Fr Frank Brennan SJ as the Rector of Newman College within the University of Melbourne, the CSSA Board invites applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer at Catholic Social Services Australia. Applications are sought from candidates with a background in human services and in government relations who will work productively with member organisations, Members of Parliament, public servants, peak bodies and other groups as required.
